Statement of intent
The Nursery takes great care to treat each individual person in their own right, with equal right's and responsibilities to any other individual, whether they are an adult or child. Discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, religion, colour, creed, marital status, ethnic or national origin or political belief, has no place within Dargan Childcare Ltd.
The Nursery is committed to :
- Encourage positive role models, displayed through toys, imaginary play and activities that promote non-stereotyped images. Books will be selected to promote such images of men, women, boys and girls.
- Encouraging children to join in activities, i.e. dressing up, shop, home corner, dolls, climbing on large apparatus, bikes ect.
Wishing Well Nursery aims to ensure that individuals are recruited, selected, trained and promoted on the basis of occupational skill requirements.
Special Educational Needs
Wishing Well Nursery is committed to the inclusion of children with special needs. All children have the right to be able to share the same opportunities and overcome any difficulties together.
Wishing Well Nursery has a positive behaviour policy; children need to have boundaries set for their own safety and the safety of their peers. We aim to set these boundaries in a way which helps the child to develop a sense of significance of their own behaviour, to develop their own ideas and concepts. By positively promoting good behaviour, manners, value co-operation and a caring attitude we hope to ensure that children will develop as responsible members of society.
